Golden monkeys are not just species of monkeys you encounter in a common jungle. Golden monkeys are very unique species with a factor of the glittering goldish colour at the back with white strips in their faces. These primate species are herbivorous in nature feeding on young bamboo shoot and stem, tree leaves, flowers, fruits like mangoes, oranges, jack fruit, water melon, avocadoes, sweet bananas, grapes, sugar canes, other crops like maize, ground nuts, and more.

By position it’s located in the North western part of Rwanda nearing Virunga National Park of Democratic Republic of Congo; it is characterized with tropical rain forest, Savannah grasslands, Swampy areas and the thick Bamboo forests where these unique Species are usually found.
